Nature has its own way of doing things, from which we have a lot to learn. This project takes inspiration from the avocado, more precisely the pit.

The spread of avocados was enabled by the Lestodon, an extinct genus of giant sloth. The 15 foot tall mammal would eat avocados whole and, as it traveled through America, spread the undigested seeds, also fertilizing them in the process.
The concept for Tabowl originates from the idea of the pit, the seed from which a future avocado will grow, being transported across the land by animals.

Tabowl is, as the name suggests it, the meeting between a table and a bowl. The bowl, at the core of the design, mimics the avocado seed.
Created with a flat bottom, the hand-turned bowl can be taken out and used to transport items. When nestled in its metal ring, it can be used for storage, along with the shelf beneath it.
In its minimalist design, Tabowl unites practicality, beauty and simplicity while subtly paying homage to the history of the avocado.
